Liebert Cassidy Whitmore Is Pleased To Announce Jesse Maddox And Alison Neufeld Have Been Named Partners

Jesse Maddox, a member of the Education Law, Employment Law, Litigation Services, and Public Safety practice groups, focuses primarily on defending public employers in state and federal court, and prosecuting employee disciplinary appeals.  He has extensive experience defending employers against various employment-related claims, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, benefits, and section 1983 claims.  He also has considerable experience with law enforcement issues, including the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights Act, and defending law enforcement agencies in such areas as officer discipline, Pitchess Motion hearings and excessive force lawsuits.

Jesse also regularly represents employers in administrative proceedings, including proceedings with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, California Labor Commissioner and California Public Employment Relations Board.  He has also been listed in Northern California SuperLawyer Rising Star, in 2010 and 2011.

Jesse earned his JD from the University of Nebraska, College of Law and his BS from the University of Nebraska.  He is a resident of LCW's Fresno, California office.

Alison Neufeld, a member of the Education Law, Employment Law, Labor Relations and Negotiation Services, and Litigation Services practice groups, represents management in all aspects of labor, employment, and education law.  Her practice has encompassed matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, First Amendment and other constitutional issues, the Brown Act and the Public Records Act, conflicts of interest, collective bargaining, grievance and interest arbitration, and unfair labor practice proceedings.  She has also represented community college districts and school districts in academic and certificated layoff and dismissal proceedings, as well as classified employee disciplinary matters. 

Alison has reviewed and drafted board policies and administrative regulations, and provides guidance on board governance issues.  Her practice has also included developing and presenting management training on such subjects as reasonable accommodation, privacy, medical leave laws and labor negotiations.  In addition, Alison is an experienced investigator.

Alison earned her JD from the University of California, Hastings College of Law and her BA from the University of Michigan.  She is a resident of LCW's San Francisco, California office.
