The Disability Interactive Process

This workshop will cover the full range of issues and obligations faced by employers when dealing with disabled employees. Topics include: What qualifies as a disability? What disability related information may be acquired by employers? What is required by the interactive process? What is meant by “reasonable accommodation”? How does the interactive process relate to other laws? How do disability retirement laws impact the interactive process? The workshop includes realistic examples of workplace situations, comprehensive case studies, and a simulation to facilitate audience participation. In addition, an accompanying workbook compliments the workshop presentation and provides materials for undertaking effective interactive process meetings.
