Super Lawyers* names Southern California's top lawyers as chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics. 2007 Southern California Super Lawyers is based on surveys of more than 60,000 lawyers across Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ventura, Kern, Santa Barbara, Imperial and San Luis Obispo counties.

We congratulate Peter Brown, Dan Cassidy, Jeff Freedman, Richard Kreisler and John Liebert for being recognized for their work in Employment and Labor Law; Mary Dowell for her work in School and Employment Law; and Melanie Poturica for her work in Employment and Labor Law and for being recognized as one of the top 50 women lawyers who received the highest point totals in the balloting.

Congratulations! (from left): Peter Brown, Melanie Poturica, Richard Kreisler, Dan Cassidy, Mary Dowell, and Jeffrey FreedmanJohn Liebert not shown.

*“Super Lawyers” are based on ballots mailed to attorneys in California asking them to vote for best lawyers they had personally observed in action. Nominees then are put through a selection process including peer review & credential fact checking.

**“Rising Stars” (who must be under 40 or in practice less than 10 years) are selected through a similar process with the exception that nominations are solicited from “Super Lawyers” in their geographic region.
