
Ruth Graf-Urasaki has specialized in all
aspects of labor and employment law for fifteen years.
Ruth is recognized for
her expertise in discrimination, sexual and other types of harassment,
constitutional civil rights claims, and due process.
As Of Counsel with the
firm, Ruth specializes in both counseling clients, with a strong focus
on prevention, and defending them in litigation, including
administrative hearings, arbitrations, trials, appeals. She has a
strong record of success in obtaining dismissals of civil claims at the
pleading and motion stage. She regularly deals with administrative
agencies such as the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and
California Department of Fair Employment and Housing. Ruth represents
a wide variety of public agency clients, including cities, counties,
housing authorities, community college districts and law enforcement
agencies.
Ruth handled numerous
arbitrations and civil service hearings at the Firm, presents a wide
variety of workshops and has conducted several independent
investigations of alleged employee misconduct. She has successfully
argued before the California Court of Appeal and the California Supreme
Court.
