Steve Berliner is a partner with extensive experience
in litigation and labor relations.
Steve acts as chief negotiator for a number of our clients in
their labor negotiations. He
advises them on contract interpretation and represents clients in
grievance matters. Steve has also represented clients in interest
arbitrations and in Court regarding a variety of labor matters.
Steve has an extensive litigation
practice, defending our clients in a wide range of lawsuits, including
FLSA, discrimination, writs and breach of contract. In addition, Steve
represents clients in administrative hearings, including employee
disciplinary matters.
Steve has expertise in the area of PERS,
the County 1937 Retirement Act, and related retirement issues. This part
of his practice includes advising and representing clients in dealings
with PERS regarding PERS audits. He also represents clients in
administrative proceedings and in litigation regarding retirement
issues.
