
Michael Blacher's clients include cities,
counties, and special districts, as well as school and community college
districts. He handles a broad spectrum of employment matters, advising
and representing clients regarding discipline and due process,
discrimination and harassment charges, wage and hour claims, Family and
Medical Leave Act issues, and PERB proceedings. He represents clients
in administrative proceedings and litigation. Michael has been
particularly successful in advising clients on anticipating and
preventing potential legal problems.
Michael also devotes a significant part of
his practice to education law matters. He handles student discipline
matters, employee terminations, and drafts school district policies and
procedures. Michael also updates model policies and procedures for the
Community College League of California.
Prior to joining Liebert Cassidy Whitmore,
Michael worked on documentary films, including the Academy Award winner,
The Long Way Home. He was an educational administrator for the
Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, as well as an instructor at UCLA.
