
Laura Kalty’s experience centers on
representing public employers in litigation, including the defense of
wage and hour, harassment, discrimination, retaliation and disability
claims in State and Federal court. Her practice also focuses on the
representation of public entities against tort and civil rights claims.
Laura represents clients in disciplinary appeals, grievance arbitrations
and various other administrative proceedings, and advises clients in all
aspects of employment matters.
Laura has a
demonstrated record of success for the firm’s clients via law and
motion, mediation, settlement and appeal. She has extensive deposition
and litigation discovery experience. Laura is also a trainer for the
firm, and speaks on such topics as harassment, discrimination,
retaliation, leaves, absenteeism, and employee investigation, discipline
and evaluation.
Prior to joining
Liebert Cassidy Whitmore’s Los Angeles office, Laura worked in civil
litigation with a focus on complex business litigation and professional
malpractice. She has experience with managing cases from inception
through appeal.
