
The focus of Geoff Sheldon’s practice is in
representing public employers in litigation. Geoff has defended
employers in lawsuits brought in both state and federal court alleging
illegal discrimination, harassment, retaliation, disability
accommodation, overtime and civil rights violations. Geoff has
compiled a record of success for the firm’s clients via trial, law and
motion, mediation, settlement, and, when necessary, appeal.
Geoff also represents
employers in employee disciplinary appeals and grievances before
arbitrators, hearing officers, personnel commissions, civil service
commissions and local agency governing boards pertaining to both law
enforcement and other employees.
Utilizing his
litigation experience, Geoff provides advice and counsel to clients
regarding discrimination, harassment, disability accommodation, FLSA
compliance, labor relations and open meeting/public access laws. Geoff
also conducts harassment investigations and revises personnel rules and
policies for firm clients.
Prior to joining
Liebert Cassidy Whitmore, Los Angeles, Geoff worked for a large
litigation defense firm where he represented clients in products
liability, tort and commercial litigation.
