Senior Billing Specialist
Liebert Cassidy Whitmore, a premier Labor & Employment California law firm with over 120 attorneys across five offices, seeks an experienced Senior Billing Coordinator to join our accounting department in the Los Angeles office. This position is essential to our firm’s financial operations, responsible for handling all aspects of legal billing, including generating, distributing, tracking, and editing prebills, finalizing invoices, and sending final invoices to clients, including electronic LEDES files. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a legal law firm setting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate, distribute, and track prebills in a timely manner.
- Review and edit prebills to ensure accuracy before finalizing invoices.
- Finalize invoices using Aderant Expert software, ensuring compliance with firm billing guidelines.
- Distribute finalized invoices to clients via electronic means, LEDE files, or USPS as required.
- Maintain accurate records of billing activities and ensure all billing information is up-to-date.
- Provide support in cash deposits and assist with year-end collections.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external clients regarding billing inquiries and issues.
- Collaborate closely with the accounting team to streamline billing processes and enhance efficiency.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4-5 years of legal billing experience in a law firm setting.
- Proficiency in using Aderant Expert or similar billing software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with electronic billing formats, including LEDE files.
- Experience in handling cash deposits and collections is preferred.
- Knowledge of state and federal billing compliance regulations.
