Five Things California Private Schools Need to Know about: COVID-19 and Reasonable Accommodations

CATEGORY: Webinars on Demand
PRESENTER: Jennifer Rosner

As schools begin the process of reopening, employees are increasingly raising concerns about returning to the classroom.  We will cover the most common, and most important, issues facing schools as they address employee concerns and requests for accommodation.  At a minimum, all schools are obligated to comply with federal laws, like the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and most schools have to comply with California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) to provide a reasonable accommodation to employees with disabilities.  In addition to the ADA and FEHA, federal and state family leave laws are critical for addressing the needs of employees who require job-protected leave to care for themselves or a family member.  This presentation will discuss the legal and practical considerations for accommodating employees during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Who should attend:

Heads of School, CFOs/Business Officers, Department Heads and Deans, Human Resources Directors and Counselors.
