This webinar meets the requirement that public employers provide harassment prevention training to certain elected officials and supervisors within 6 months of hire/promotion/election/appointment (and every two years thereafter) found in Government Code section 12950.1, the newly amended in 2016 DFEH regulations, and the newly enacted AB 1661.  This webinar also meets the requirements of AB 2053, which requires that harassment prevention training must also address how to prevent “abusive conduct” in the workplace.

This webinar, designed for Elected Officials, City Managers and other Executive Officers and Human Resources Directors, explains this complex area of the law, including an agency’s obligation to prevent harassment and discrimination, when the legal duty to conduct an investigation arises, handlings complaints made against high-level employees, as well as basic training regarding prevent of harassment and discrimination.  Audience members will discuss typical scenarios that could lead to liability, and learn solutions for preventing or addressing harassing, abusive, discriminatory, or retaliatory conduct.
