Five Things California Private Schools Need to Know about the Revised State Family Rights Act
Effective January 1, 2021, the California Family Rights Act will apply to all schools with just five (5) or more employees. Moreover, the new law makes several significant substantive changes to available leaves. For example, it broadens the definition of family member, extends the reasons for leave, and allows for longer leave in some situations. Every school will need to revise their policies before the new law takes effect. This presentation will set out the most important changes to the law and provide guidance for addressing them.
