abrena_lrJolina A. Abrena | Associate,  Los Angeles

Jolina represents Liebert Cassidy Whitmore clients in all matters pertaining to labor and employment law. An experienced litigator, Jolina has extensive experience in all aspects of the litigation process, including trials and appeals. Jolina was second chair in the underlying case of Benach v. County of Los Angeles (2007) 149 Cal.App.4th 836, and has presented oral argument before the California Courts of Appeal. Jolina also represents clients at administrative hearings and advises clients on compliance with employment discrimination laws, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, regulatory requirements and labor agreements. She has conducted thorough investigations and provided harassment trainings. 


arce_lr Elizabeth Tom Arce | Partner, Los Angeles

Elizabeth (Liz) is an accomplished advocate with experience litigating a wide array of labor and employment cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts. Liz has successfully represented employers in matters ranging from single plaintiff lawsuits to wage and hour class and collective actions. Her litigation experience includes numerous successful summary judgment motions, defeating class certification, and decertifying collective actions. Liz's litigation practice also includes resolving FLSA-related issues, as well as handling matters in arbitration and before administrative agencies where she has been effective at obtaining favorable results for the firm's clients.


bolanos_lr Richard Bolanos | Partner, San Francisco

Richard (Rick) Bolanos has an exclusive practice representing California cities, counties and special districts in labor relations, negotiations, representation in disciplinary proceedings, arbitration of grievances, investigations, mediations, fact-finding hearings and specialized representation in an investigation of employee discipline, harassment, and discrimination matters. In addition, Rick provides special counsel to public agencies concerning public safety department formation, consolidation, and dissolution procedures and he is one of the firm's specialists in Fair Labor Standards Act consultation and litigation.

Peter Brown has been involved in all areas of Liebert Cassidy Whitmore's practice since 1989, representing public agencies in litigation, collective bargaining negotiations and many different types of administrative hearings.  Peter has a unique talent in promptly developing an expertise in most of the laws which impact our public agency clients such as the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family Medical Leave Acts, and the state labor relations laws.  Many of the firm's clients have come to rely on his advice in guiding them in these constantly changing areas of law.


charbonneau_lr Lisa S. Charbonneau | Associate, San Francisco

Lisa represents cities, counties, and special districts throughout the state in litigation, advice and counsel, and all other matters pertaining to labor and employment law, including Fair Labor Standards Act compliance, investigations, public employee discipline, wage and hour compliance, the Public Safety Officers’ and Firefighters’ Procedural Bill of Rights Acts, and labor relations.  She also works with the firm’s school clients on wage and hour and other education law matters. he has secured successful results, including dismissal or summary judgment, for clients in litigation matters ranging from Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) collective actions to disability discrimination to First Amendment retaliation.

Gage provides management-side representation and legal counsel to clients in all matters pertaining to labor and employment law throughout the State of California.  This includes both private sector and public sector employers, including cities, counties, special districts, hospitals, businesses, and packing houses, among others. rosner_lr Jennifer Rosner | Associate, Los Angeles

Jennifer is a prolific litigator with an extensive background in lawsuits involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, as well as disciplinary and due process issues.  As a litigator, Jennifer has considerable experience with law enforcement issues, including the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights Act, and in defending law enforcement agencies in officer discipline, Section 1983 claims and Pitchess Motion hearings. Jennifer also frequently responds to requests from clients for advice and guidance in the areas of leave rights, disability interactive process, disability retirement, discipline, termination, Family Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, investigations, retaliation, and discrimination.


walter_lr Brian P. Walter | Partner, Los Angeles

Brian Walter represents clients in all aspects of employment and labor law, including litigation, counseling on employment and labor relations matters, training and presentations, employee discipline matters, administrative hearings, and investigations.  Brian has handled class actions and collective actions in federal and state courts and is Chair of the firm's Litigation Practice Group.  Brian has extensive experience handling FLSA issues and representing law enforcement agencies, including successfully defending employee discipline matters for sworn and civilian law enforcement personnel. 


T. Oliver Yee | Partner, Los Angeles

Oliver provides representation and legal counsel to Liebert Cassidy Whitmore's city, county, special district, school and community college district, and public safety clients.  His practice involves representing and advising clients on a variety of labor and employment issues including labor negotiations, personnel rules and policies, the Fair Labor Standards Act, laws and regulations of public employment retirement plans, unfair labor practices, employee grievances, leave and disability issues, and disciplinary actions.
