July 20, 2016 - We are proud to announce that four LCW Partners have been named California's "Top 75 Labor & Employment Lawyers," by the Daily Journal. Peter BrownMorin I. JacobLaura Kalty, and Brian Walter have been honored by this prestigious recognition.

This is the sixth consecutive year that one of Liebert Cassidy Whitmore's attorneys has been selected to this list. LCW is one of two firms that received the most placements on the "Top Labor & Employment Lawyers" list.

Peter Brown, Partner in the Los Angeles office of the Firm and Chair of LCW's Labor Relations & Collective Bargaining Practice, has received this recognition for the fourth time. Peter Brown serves as the Chief Negotiator for approximately 20 Southern California public agencies and has negotiated approximately 40 collective bargaining agreements between these public agencies and their labor unions and local employee associations since January 1, 2015.

Morin I. Jacob, Managing Partner of the Firm's San Francisco office provides legal services to police and fire agencies throughout California.  Ms. Jacob is a prominent and "go-to" partner in the Firm, and as a seasoned litigator/trial lawyer represents clients on all labor and employment law cases, primarily working with public safety agencies, and also representing Cities, Counties, and Special Districts.

Laura Drottz Kalty, Partner in the Los Angeles office of the Firm and Chair of LCW's Wage & Hour Practice, has been providing training throughout the state to public safety agencies on how to conduct investigations and impose discipline, while staying within the confines of the POBR.  She also helps public employers understand the impact of the Ellins v. City of Sierra Madre case on police officer's rights.

Brian Walter, Partner in the Los Angeles office of the Firm and Chair of LCW's Litigation Services Practice, successfully defends public employers in employment claims brought against those employers by their former attorneys.  These cases are particularly complex and sensitive because most of the discovery, both written and depositions, involves communications involving attorneys, and the cases require extensive and complex privilege assertions and discovery motions.

Liebert Cassidy Whitmore congratulates them for being honored in their work!
