Erin Kunze, Associate

Erin provides representation and legal counsel to Liebert Cassidy Whitmore clients on a variety of employment, education, business and facilities law matters, including retirement, labor relations, public safety, and safety planning in schools. She provides training to LCW clients in the areas of performance management, harassment and discrimination, and mandated reporting. Erin assists academic institutions and nonprofit clients in complying with foundation, donation, and exempt organization issues.

Megan Lewis represents public employers, including cities, counties, and special districts, and private school clients on employment law issues.  Megan has over a decade of litigation experience before state and federal courts, administrative bodies, and private arbitrations.  She is experienced in all aspects of the litigation process, including pleadings, written discovery and depositions, dispositive motion practice, and alternative dispute resolution.  Megan also advises on, and conducts, workplace investigations.  She has conducted investigations involving a variety of allegations, including harassment, workplace violence, and off duty misconduct.

Drew Liebert, Training Consultant

Drew Liebert has passionately focused his legal career in legislative law-making and advocacy.  Prior to his 2015 retirement from the California Legislature, Drew was one of the Legislature's most senior attorneys, having worked over 25 years in both the State Assembly and the State Senate. For almost two decades, he was the Chief Counsel to the Assembly Judiciary Committee where he and his staff counsel reviewed and advised state legislators, as well as the executive and judicial branches about virtually all areas of the state's civil justice system, including employment and constitutional law.  This work put Drew in the front row seat of developing some of California’s most important civil law reforms, such as sexual harassment prevention and diversity enhancement, child support improvement and marriage equality, and anti-discrimination reforms.

As the Administrator of the San Francisco Office, Freshta manages the day-to-day operations of a growing office, including human resources, administration, and office operations. As a member of the firm's management team and strategic planning committee, Freshta contributes to LCW's long and short-range strategic goals. Freshta serves as a liaison between our attorneys and our legal support staff to ensure that the day-to-day support services run smoothly and efficiently.

Dalisai Nisperos is an Associate in the San Francisco Office of Liebert Cassidy Whitmore.  She represents and advises public sector agencies in all aspects of labor, employment, and education law. This includes: state and federal court litigation, labor relations, responding to EEOC/DFEH charges, wage and hour, and advice and counsel on an array of personnel issues. She has first-chaired administrative hearings and arbitrations, and continues to represent clients in state and federal court matters.

For more than 25 years, Cynthia has provided practical legal advice to public sector employers on such topics as: the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Public Safety Officers' and Firefighters' Procedural Bill of Rights Acts, municipal personnel practices and employee discipline, accommodation of employees with disabilities, and the prevention of sexual harassment.

With over 20 years of experience in school and public sector law, Laura Schulkind has developed an extensive background in the successful resolution of many employment and education-related issues and is experienced in all phases of school and employment law. Her areas of expertise include board governance and the Brown Act, student rights and discipline, certificated and classified evaluation and discipline, employee leave rights and the interactive process, contract grievance arbitration, harassment, employee investigations, education services for non-English speakers, employment and educational testing and accountability, school safety planning and hate crime prevention, OCR investigations, special education, desegregation, and designing lawful strategies to promote employment diversity. She is currently on the Board of Governors Title 5 Task Force, where she is assisting with revising the EEO and hiring regulations for community colleges.

Steven Shaw has a wealth of experience serving public agencies, educational institutions and non-profit organizations in the full range of labor and employment matters. Well versed in the litigation process, Steven has nearly 15 years of experience representing clients in disputes, including extensive trial experience. He represents employers in all types of litigation, including lawsuits involving allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower protection, failure to accommodate, FLSA, FMLA, wage and hour disputes, and violations of federal due process (Section 1983). He is experienced in both state and federal court. Steven also advises and represents employers in arbitration and administrative proceedings involving matters such as labor relations, collective bargaining issues, unfair practice charges and employee discipline.
