Tavi Kessler
Associate
Tavi Kessler is an Associate in the Los Angeles office of Liebert Cassidy Whitmore, where she represents public agencies in labor, employment, and education law matters. Tavi brings extensive courtroom and litigation experience, advising and defending clients through all stages of dispute resolution.
Prior to joining LCW, Tavi was a Senior Associate at a civil litigation firm, where she handled cases involving civil rights, personal injury, and juvenile dependency. Her practice included courtroom advocacy, motion work, contract negotiation, and client counseling in both state and federal courts.
Tavi previously served as a Deputy District Attorney with the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted felony and misdemeanor cases, litigated evidentiary hearings, and argued complex legal motions. She also completed multiple clerkships with the District Attorney’s Office and externed with U.S. Magistrate Judge Maria-Elena James of the United States District Court in San Francisco.
Tavi earned her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law, where she was named to the Dean’s List, earned several academic honors, and served as Director of the Internal Trial Team. She also competed on the National Trial Team and earned a Social Justice Certificate. Tavi holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.
