What Employers Should Know About the New SPSL Obligations
COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave (“SPSL”) has returned for 2022. With the new year come important new changes to SPSL obligations for employers. This webinar will describe employers’ responsibilities to provide SPSL under Senate Bill 114 and highlight important changes compared to the 2021 version of the law. The webinar will address how employers should implement SPSL, including how to calculate the SPSL owed to different employees, methods of tracking the leave, and compliance with regular notice requirements. The presentation will also discuss how employers should manage the overlap between SPSL and other COVID-19-related obligations, like exclusion pay under the Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Emergency Temporary Standard. Finally, the presentation will cover several nuances related to SPSL’s new effective dates, such as retroactive application. Presenters will answer questions throughout the presentation, as well as at the conclusion of the presentation.
