Employee Mental Health: Disability Accommodations & the Interactive Process
Have employees ever mentioned feeling unsafe, brought up their psychological wellbeing, or asked for mental health days? Mental health continues to be a key part of the conversation in nonprofits—but what does real support look like in practice, especially when balancing legal responsibilities and day-to-day operations? In this session, we’ll unpack these important (and often tricky) topics with real-world case studies and an open Q&A. Nonprofits will learn how to identify when a mental health concern might qualify as a disability, what goes into that determination, and what accommodations are most commonly requested. We’ll also look at practical, proactive ways California nonprofits can promote wellness in the workplace while staying aligned with legal and operational needs.
