Allison Berquist is an Associate in Liebert Cassidy Whitmore’s Los Angeles office, where she advises clients on labor and employment matters, as well as business and facilities issues, with extensive experience serving both public and private educational institutions.
With solid experience in Labor and Employment, Allison focuses on personnel policy auditing and updates. She is currently engaged in a project with the Employers’ Risk Management Association (ERMA), where she audits and reviews members’ policies and procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness. Additionally, as part of the Business and Facilities practice group, she provides strategic guidance to help manage risk and ensure compliance across complex projects including, contracts, procurement, construction, and real estate transactions.
Allison co-led the development of the Workplace Violence Prevention Program (WVPP) that complies with Labor Code Section 6401.9 and consistently updates and revises the policy in accordance with DOSH guidance. Additionally, she was instrumental in the WVPP rollout for clients by reviewing and creating their WVPPs, developing training materials, and conducting WVPP training for over 17 entities.
Prior to joining Liebert Cassidy Whitmore, Allison worked as a Law Clerk at multiple firms and gained experience in multiple practices including disability, special education, Medicaid, and family law. Prior to law school, Allison served as a teacher in Los Angeles and New York through both Teach for America and the UCLA Center X Teacher Education Program.
Allison obtained her JD from Pepperdine Law School where she was the Vice President of the Student Bar Association, President of Advocates for Public Interest Law, Literary Citation Editor for the National Association for the Administrative Law Judiciary Journal, Communication Chair of the National Lawyers Guild and an active member of the Faith and Family Mediation Clinic and the Student Mentor Program.
As an undergraduate, Allison attended Union College in Schenectady, New York where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies. Allison also received a Masters from the University of California Los Angeles in Education.
