California Community Colleges Board Of Governors Approves Regulatory Action On Awarding Credit For Advanced Placement & Other External Standardized Examinations

The California Community Colleges Board of Governors approved regulatory action titled “Awarding Credit for Advanced Placement & Other External Standardized Examinations.” It was filed with the Office of Administrative Law and the California Secretary of State on August 10, 2026. This regulation becomes effective 30 days from the August 10, 2026 filing date, or September 9, 2026.

Pursuant to the California Code of Regulations, section 52010, college districts may conform their policies and procedures to the regulatory requirements within one hundred and eighty (180) days of the effective date, which is March 8, 2027.
