WORK WITH US
Kristi Recchia, dedicated public servant and Liebert Cassidy Whitmore’s Director of Labor Relations, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 at the age of 50.
Kristi loved life, labor relations and the public sector. She began her career at the City of Irvine as a Management Analyst II. She continued her career in public agency human resources, serving as the Director of Personnel Services/Human Resources for the Cities of Santa Fe Springs, Tustin and Pasadena. She was very active in her professional organizations including the Public Employer Labor Relations Association of California (PELRAC), where she served as President, and its national parent organization, NPELRA. She served as a member of the Employer Relations Policy Committee for the League of California Cities from 2008-2010 and was affiliated with both the Public Agency Risk Management Association and the Society for Human Resources Management.
Kristi joined LCW in 2015 where she served as the firm’s Labor Relations Director. In that capacity she provided negotiations services for our clients, worked internally to help our developing negotiators refine their skills, consulted with our clients’ Human Resources departments on best practices, and provided training to clients on management-related topics. Along with Peter Brown, she developed our Labor Relations Certification Academy.
Kristi’s positive, practical and personable approach to life and work challenges was an inspiration to many. We mourn her untimely death, but we celebrate the way she lived her life and the impact she had on ours. Kristi is survived by her father, sister, brother, niece and nephew and a community of extended family, friends and colleagues.
