Update: ADA Title II Website Content and Mobile Application Accessibility Compliance Deadlines Extended by One Year

As a follow up to LCW’s prior special bulletin on February 4, 2026, the compliance deadlines for web content and mobile application accessibility under ADA Title II have been extended by one year.

The updated deadlines are as follows:

  • State and local governments with a total population size of 50,000 or more: April 26, 2027
  • State and local governments with a total population size of 0 to 49,999: April 26, 2028
  • Special district governments: April 26, 2028

Public agencies should continue ongoing efforts to ensure their digital content meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements.
