Ailin Buigues Nevarez is an Associate in Liebert Cassidy Whitmore’s Los Angeles office. Her practice focuses on government contracts, procurement, nonprofit governance, operational compliance, risk management, and strategic legal counseling. Ailin has extensive experience negotiating and administering complex federal and state contracts, advising executive leadership, and helping organizations navigate evolving regulatory and compliance requirements.
Prior to joining LCW, Ailin spent more than a decade advising nonprofit organizations and government-funded programs on high-profile legal and operational matters. She negotiated and administered complex contractual agreements, advised executive leadership on contract implementation and compliance, directed competitive procurement and subcontractor selection processes, and managed relationships with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and legal service providers nationwide. She also led responses to federal solicitations and requests for proposals, developed contract administration strategies, and advised organizational leaders on risk management and program implementation.
Earlier in her career, Ailin co-founded and helped build one of the nation’s largest nonprofit legal defense programs serving unaccompanied immigrant children. In that role, she developed organizational policies, compliance systems, and operational procedures, supervised attorneys and professional staff, managed grants and contracts, and represented clients in complex immigration proceedings. Her experience also includes advising clients on legal strategy, drafting motions and briefs, and managing matters through final adjudication.
Ailin earned her J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, and her B.A. in Communications, with a minor in Business Administration, from California State University, Fullerton. She also completed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) xPRO Leading Organizations to Success Project Management Certificate. Ailin is fluent in both English and Spanish.
