Barbara J. Boktor

Barbara J. Boktor is an Associate in the Los Angeles office of Liebert Cassidy Whitmore, where she provides advice and counsel on labor and employment law matters.
Before joining LCW, Barbara served as an Employee and Labor Relations Advocate at San Francisco State University, where she independently managed a plethora of grievances, complaints, and information requests for employees across various unions, including CFA and UAW. In this role, Barbara issued Level One Grievance responses, negotiated high-value grievance settlements, and led workplace misconduct investigations. She also provided training and guidance to university management on progressive discipline and public employment legal standards.
Earlier in her career, Barbara worked as an Associate at a prominent Northern California law firm where she gained a deep understanding of estate planning and probate law, including wills, trusts, and California probate code compliance. At another notable Northern California law firm, she specialized in landlord-tenant and real estate law, where she handled litigation proceedings, from drafting motions and discovery to representing clients in hearings.
Barbara earned her Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law, where she served as President of the Middle Eastern Law Student Association. She holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Women & Gender Studies from California State University, Fullerton, where she was Treasurer of the Women & Gender Law Student Association and taught ESL classes to MENA refugees.
