Brittany McKinley is an Associate in Liebert Cassidy Whitmore’s Los Angeles office. Her practice includes corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, corporate restructuring, and strategic business transactions. Brittany also has experience representing clients in commercial litigation and managing matters through all phases of litigation, including motion practice, discovery, mediation, and trial preparation.
Prior to joining LCW, Brittany advised financial institutions, private equity firms, strategic buyers, startups, nonprofit organizations, family offices, and public and private companies on a wide range of complex corporate transactions. She also served as outside general counsel to business clients, providing strategic legal advice on corporate governance, compliance, and day-to-day business operations.
In addition to her transactional practice, Brittany developed extensive litigation experience representing corporate clients in commercial, product liability, warranty, insurance, and high-exposure civil litigation. She has managed matters from inception through trial, including depositions, dispositive motions, mediation, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and client strategy.
Brittany is deeply committed to public service and community leadership. She previously served as President of the Los Angeles Human Relations Commission under LA Civil Rights, where she led the mayor-appointed advisory board promoting equity, human rights, and community engagement throughout the City of Los Angeles. She collaborated with city leaders and community organizations to advance initiatives focused on racial equity, community safety, interfaith pluralism, and LGBTQ+ advocacy.
Brittany earned her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, where she served as Director of Programming for the Human Rights Law Society and participated in the International Human Rights Clinic. She received her B.A. in Sociology from Loyola Marymount University. Brittany is admitted to practice law in California and New York.
