Catherine Baumgartner

Catherine Baumgartner is an Associate in Liebert Cassidy Whitmore’s San Francisco office. Her practice includes employment litigation, workplace compliance, and complex civil litigation. Catherine has managed cases through all stages of litigation, including discovery, depositions, mediation, dispositive motion practice, trial preparation, and resolution.

Prior to joining LCW, Catherine’s practice focused on complex commercial litigation at a national law firm. There she gained experience serving as the lead associate on a class action lawsuit and regularly advised corporate clients and in-house counsel on litigation strategy.

Earlier in her career, Catherine served as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami-Dade County, where she managed a high-volume caseload, conducted hundreds of depositions, and gained substantive hearing and trial experience. She also completed a judicial internship with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Before law school, she spent two years working as a labor and employment paralegal, primarily supporting discrimination cases, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charges, and wage and hour class actions.

Catherine earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where she concentrated in Litigation and Dispute Resolution. She was elected to the Order of the Barristers, served on the Moot Court Board and the University of Miami Business Law Review, and participated in the Litigation Skills Program and the Death Penalty Practicum. She received her B.A. in Art History, with a minor in Anthropology, from Emory University.
