Caz C. Ashjian is an Associate in Liebert Cassidy Whitmore’s Fresno office. His practice includes employment litigation, workplace compliance, and policy development, in addition to wage and hour claims, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and leave law issues. He also brings prior in-house legal experience supporting compliance, privacy, and contract matters.
Prior to joining LCW, Caz represented employers in labor and employment litigation and advised clients on workplace compliance. He managed matters through all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, arbitration, and resolution in both state and federal courts. In addition, Caz represented construction industry clients in contract disputes, mechanic’s liens, stop notice proceedings, and payment claims involving public and private works projects. He also co-authored an article addressing California employer compliance obligations.
Earlier in his legal career, Caz gained valuable in-house legal experience supporting compliance, privacy, and contract matters. He researched governmental immunity and contract law across multiple jurisdictions, drafted a complaint before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and assisted with privacy policy revisions related to a corporate acquisition. He also gained experience in litigation, immigration, and public policy through legal internships, where he conducted legal research, drafted legal memoranda and briefs, and worked directly with clients and government stakeholders.
Caz earned his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law, where he concentrated his studies in labor and employment law, construction law, contract drafting, and data privacy. He received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Utah and is fluent in Spanish.
