What Labor Code Sections Apply to the Public Sector?
Understanding which sections of the California Labor Code apply to the public sector has historically been challenging. The law has been vague and confusing. Last year the California Supreme Court issued the Stone v. Alameda Health Systems decision, which provided some helpful guidance on the state of the law. Other recent cases have also addressed the application of certain Labor Code sections to public agencies. Come listen to two of LCW’s Wage and Hour experts talk about these issues. It may cause you to need to modify how you are paying employees at your agency.
