Shelline Bennett

Shelline Bennett is a Partner at Liebert Cassidy Whitmore with more than 30 years of experience exclusively advising and representing in all areas of labor and employment law. She has worked with private employers across a variety of industries, nonprofit organizations, and various types of public employers. Shelline has extensive litigation experience in federal and state courts and has represented employers before administrative agencies, arbitrators, and commissions. Her practice also includes serving as lead negotiator at bargaining tables.
Shelline serves as the Chair of the firm’s Investigation Practice Group and brings the breadth of her legal experience to her investigations practice. She is an Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) Certificate Holder and has conducted trainings for AWI. Her investigations work spans the entire process, from serving as the investigator to overseeing all aspects of investigations, including retaining outside investigators, developing scopes of investigation, analyzing findings of fact, and providing legal conclusions and recommendations. She also regularly conducts full-day train-the-investigator trainings in compliance with California Civil Rights Department guidelines.
Shelline served for many years as the Managing Partner of the firm’s Fresno and Sacramento offices, and prior to joining Liebert Cassidy Whitmore, Shelline was the Managing Shareholder of the Central California office of a large international employment law firm. She has served as Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary/Treasurer for the Litigation Section of the Federal Bar Association and appears monthly on a local news affiliate’s employment-law update segment. Throughout her career, Ms. Bennett has received numerous recognitions, including 20 plus years of selection to Northern California Super Lawyers and recognition as one of the “Top Women Attorneys in Northern California” by San Francisco Magazine.
