Liebert Cassidy Whitmore Attorneys Named 2022 Northern California Super Lawyers and Rising Stars

LOS ANGELES- Liebert Cassidy Whitmore is pleased to announce that seven LCW attorneys have been named 2022 Northern California Super Lawyers and Rising Stars. Partners Shelline Bennett and Rick Bolanos were selected as Super Lawyers while Partner Michael Youril, and Attorneys Amy Brandt, Tony Carvalho, Nathan Jackson, and Lars Reed were selected as Rising Stars for their continued, tireless work on behalf of LCW’s clients and their overall dedication to the practice of law.

Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process is multi-phased and includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. Each year, no more than five percent of the lawyers in the state are selected as Super Lawyers and no more than 2.5 percent are selected as Rising Stars.

2022 Northern California Super Lawyers

Fresno and Sacramento Office Managing Partner Shelline Bennett, having been awarded this honor for her fifteenth consecutive year (seventeen years total), provides advice and counsel in all labor and employment-law matters to LCW clients.  In addition to being a chief labor negotiator, Shelline is also provides investigation services including those of a sensitive nature and concerning high-profile individuals.

San Francisco Partner Rick Bolanos, having been awarded this honor for his tenth consecutive year (thirteen years total), provides labor relation services for public agencies, including serving as chief negotiator.

2022 Northern California Rising Stars

Fresno Partner Michael Youril, ranking as a Rising Star for the fifth time in his career, provides representation and legal counsel to Liebert Cassidy Whitmore clients in matters pertaining to employment and labor law. Michael has extensive experience in retirement law including CalPERS, the ’37 Act, and local retirement systems.

San Francisco Attorney Amy Brandt is honored to accept this distinction for the first time in her career. Amy provides advice and counsel in matters pertaining to education, labor, and employment law. Amy represents clients before  the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Office of Administrative Hearings, California Public Employee Relations Board, and the Office for Civil Rights.

Fresno Attorney Tony Carvalho, ranking as a Rising Star for his third consecutive year, provides employment and labor law advice and counsel to public entities.  Tony has significant experience in litigation, government claims, and EEOC/DFEH complaints, including drafting pleadings, motions, memoranda, written discovery, mediation briefs, and employer responses to EEOC/DFEH complaints.

Sacramento Attorney Nathan Jackson is honored to accept this distinction for the first time in his career. Nathan is an aggressive litigator and has significant law and motion experience in state and federal courts, covering everything from complex discovery issues to dispositive motions. Nathan also has extensive experience responding to investigations initiated by California’s Department of Fair Employment & Housing (DFEH) and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Sacramento Attorney Lars Reed is honored to accept this distinction for the first time in his career. Lars provides counsel and representation on matters pertaining to employment law, labor relations, and litigation. Lars has particular expertise with the California Public Records Act and is part of LCW’s dedicated strike team helping public agencies respond to requests for law enforcement records. Lars is also experienced in advising clients on wage and hour regulations, leave laws, and personnel issues.
