Abigail Choi
Associate
Abigail Choi is an Associate in the Sacramento office of Liebert Cassidy Whitmore, where she provides legal counsel and support on education law matters, focusing on special education and related legal issues. Abigail first joined the firm as a Summer Law Clerk, where she worked hand in hand with a multitude of our Public Agency and Education clients.
Before joining LCW, Abigail gained valuable experience as a Legal Advocate at the Lanterman Special Education Legal Clinic, where she represented special education students across multiple school districts, providing legal assistance and conducting community outreach. She also interned for Stay Housed Los Angeles and Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County, helping to provide pro bono eviction defense to low-income tenants. Her background in community service and advocacy also includes volunteer work in East Palo Alto schools and educational programs, and prior employment with programs such as Wise Readers to Leaders.
Abigail earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where she was actively involved in the Barbara F. Bice Public Interest Law Foundation as the Public Donations Co-Chair and in the International Refugee Assistance Project as the Treasurer. In addition, as a Visiting Student at Columbia Law School, externing with the Center for Public Research and Leadership, she spent a semester working as part of a project team to research and draft potential education-related legislative initiatives. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from USC, graduating magna cum laude and with induction into Phi Beta Kappa.
