LOS ANGELES- Liebert Cassidy Whitmore (LCW) is pleased to announce that Gage C. Dungy has rejoined our Sacramento office as a Partner, effective April 1, 2024. Gage has over 20 years of experience providing management-side representation and legal counsel to clients in all matters pertaining to labor and employment law throughout the State of California. Much of Gage’s professional career has been spent at LCW, including eight years as a Partner.  Gage’s clients include cities, counties, special districts, and hospitals as well as nonprofit agencies and other employers.

“We are very happy to welcome Gage back to LCW. His negotiation expertise and extensive background providing advice and counsel to clients on labor and employment law issues mesh particularly well with our firm’s long-standing history serving public agencies” said LCW Managing Partner J. Scott Tiedemann. “Gage’s decision to rejoin LCW reflects not only the alignment of his vision with ours but also demonstrates his deep-rooted connection to and passion for serving the public and nonprofit sectors. Collectively, we are all excited to welcome Gage back to the firm and look forward to collaborating together and serving these important clients.”

About Gage C. Dungy

Throughout the course of his legal career, Gage has represented and advised public agency and non-profit employers on all aspects of labor and employment law issues, including matters pertaining to employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, disability accommodation, family/medical leaves of absence, wage and hour law, employee discipline and due process. He also regularly works with clients in the meet and confer process, labor relations and negotiations, and the preparation of employment guidelines and policies.

In addition to providing advice and counsel to clients on labor and employment law issues, Gage also served as chief negotiator in labor negotiations, including both miscellaneous and safety employee units covered under the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act (MMBA) and the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA). He has successfully negotiated collective bargaining agreements involving police officers, sheriffs, firefighters, public safety management staff, miscellaneous employees, management and supervisory staff in addition to other bargaining units. In negotiations, Gage excels in forging strong, effective relationships both with his clients and the employee organization representatives with whom he works. Based on this experience, he is very familiar with the relevant laws and strategic considerations related to the representation of public sector clients at the bargaining table, including fact-finding.

Gage is a popular training speaker in the areas of performance management, preventing workplace harassment, family/medical leaves of absence, wage and hour law, the meet and confer process, and public safety employment. He has also published articles on current labor and employment law cases and trends in the Daily Journal and the California Public Employee Relations Journal.
