Super Lawyers Names Liebert Cassidy Whitmore Attorneys 2023 Southern California Rising Stars

LOS ANGELES- Liebert Cassidy Whitmore is pleased to announce that three LCW attorneys have been named 2023 Southern California Rising Stars. Partner Alysha Stein-Manes and attorneys Megan Atkinson and Anni Safarloo were chosen as Rising Stars for their unwavering commitment to our clients and their steadfast dedication to the practice of law.

Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process is multi-phased and includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected as Rising Stars.

2023 Southern California Rising Stars

Partner Alysha Stein-Manes, ranking as a Rising Star for her second consecutive year, represents LCW’s educational institution clients in a range of employment, labor, and student matters. Alysha regularly advises Community College Districts on a wide range of student and employment issues, and has experience working hand-in-hand with boards on governance matters. Alysha also regularly represents community college districts in arbitrations and administrative proceedings.

In addition to her education work, Alysha is a leader in the retirement and health arenas. She regularly provides counsel to LCW’s public agency clients with regard to the Affordable Care Act, disability interactive process, post-retirement work restrictions, PEPRA compliance, and reporting employee compensation to CalSTRS and CalPERS.

Furthermore, Alysha has extensive experience as a litigator, representing public agencies and nonprofit educational institutions at all levels of the litigation process in state and federal court. She also serves on the Executive Committees for LCW’s Public Education Practice Group and Retirement, Benefits, and Disability Practice Group.

Attorney Megan Atkinson, ranking as a Rising Star for her fourth consecutive year, represents public entities in labor and employment law matters. Megan provides advice and counsel to public safety clients regarding a variety of employment law matters, including assisting throughout the disciplinary process, from the initiation of an investigation through termination. She also litigates in both state and federal court and has experience from pre-litigation through trial.

Attorney Anni Safarloo, ranking as a Rising Star for her second consecutive year, provides representation and counsel to public agency and nonprofit clients in transactional, advice and counsel, administrative, and pre-litigation and litigation matters. Her work includes labor and employment law, business and facilities, and commercial issues. Anni also represents clients in real estate related litigation.
