Technology
Liebert Cassidy Whitmore believes that the best technology is technology that delivers uncompromising service and value to our clients. The right technology responds to the needs of our practice while maintaining the security and high-availability of key information. We continually invest in the latest developments in legal technology to improve internal efficiencies and reduce client costs.
Client Communications
Our attorneys use a variety of wireless mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry) which provide immediate access to email, voicemail and system data, creating high availability for our clients. Remote access to firm data and systems is achieved through Citrix and secure VPN, providing attorneys with a secured, direct connection to client and case information using any standard internet connection. All firm email is routed through Mimecast's Unified Email Management service which provides email spam filtering, 24/7 availability and email archiving ensuring that no email is ever lost, and is recoverable or accessible.
The firm uses Avaya's IP Office for VoIP telephone and voicemail system configured in a unified communications architecture which delivers voicemails to emails and allows attorneys a complete, on-demand log of all client calls. For the secure exchange of documents between attorneys and clients, Citrix's ShareFile provides fully encrypted, private and secure file sharing. This allows clients and attorneys immediate access to privileged documents, resulting in efficient and effective matter collaboration. All firm offices are equipped with HD videoconferencing systems through LifeSize providing a convenient and cost-effective live meeting solution for clients.
Information Management
The firm uses OpenText's eDocs document management software to store, maintain and share all client documents. This ensures that all documents for a client-matter are available to all attorneys, in any of our offices, at any time. Advanced search capabilities and versioning provide attorneys with quick access to document content and efficient sharing of legal knowledge, greatly reducing costs of legal research and document production.
Our LegalKEY Records Management system stores and maintains both electronic and paper files related to all matters. CompuLaw handles the firm's docket calendaring and key filing dates, while Forms WorkFlow by US CourtForms ensures that the firm's legal secretaries have immediate access to the most up-to-date court forms.
eDiscovery and Trial Management
The firm uses Westlaw's Case Logistix, Case Notebook and Timeline as well as Summation to process eDiscovery materials and review all forms of electronic and paper documents in litigation matters. Trial Director is used to assist attorneys at trial with a dedicated eDiscovery and Litigation Support Specialist to handle all technical details. Attorneys going to trial are equipped with Trial Kits which include laptops, LCD projectors and other necessary "courtroom gear."
Robust Network and Optimized Desktop Environment
The firm's four office networks are connected through a TelePacific 10MB MPLS network and each office is equipped with a separate 10MB Ethernet-over-Copper (EoC) internet connection, resulting in a fast, reliable and secure data network. Dell Sonicwall firewalls protect against malware and network intrusions. The Firm's IT department is currently converting all server applications and systems to a virtualized environment (VMWare) to be completed by Summer 2013. "Gigabyte to the box" server-to-PC architecture ensures that staff and attorneys have the fastest access to network services.
The firm uses HP desktops running Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 built on a standardize image file and deployed through Microsoft WDS and updated weekly by Microsoft WSUS, ensuring that all desktops and laptops are fully optimized. The firm uses Zenith Enterprise's Backup and Disaster Recovery appliances and services which provide snapshot imaging and virtualization of all firm servers and continuous daily backup of all firm data, stored off-site in two secured Data Centers in the US.
