LCW Public Agency Return to Work Toolkit

The COVID-19 pandemic is having an immense and wide-ranging impact on public agencies, their employees, and community members. The COVID-19 related restrictions imposed by state and local officials to reduce the transmission of the disease have limited operations to the provision of essential services and closed agency facilities to all but essential workers.  As state and local officials begin to consider relaxing these restrictions during a time when the risks posed by COVID-19 remain, public agencies must begin planning to safely reopen their facilities to non-essential employees and members of the public.

This webinar will assist public agencies to plan for a safe and healthy reopening by examining relevant legal requirements and guidance, preventative measures to limit the transmission of the disease, and policies and practices that agencies may want to consider adopting, including testing and medical screening.  It will also provide attendees the opportunity to ask LCW attorneys any pressing questions concerning the return-to-work and the reopening of facilities to the public.

Registered attendees will receive the LCW Return-to-Work Toolkit, which will include the following template protocols, policies, and guidelines to assist with the return-to-work and the reopening of facilities to the public:

  • Recording of LCW's Return to Work Webinar
  • Protocols/Checklist for Maintaining a Safe and Healthy Workplace in Light of COVID-19
  • Guidance for Frontline Managers and Supervisors Implementing COVID-19 Policies and Practices
  • Guidelines for Employees on COVID-19 and the “New Normal”
  • Checklist for Identifying and Designating Essential Employees and Determining Work Schedules
  • Cleaning and Disinfecting Policy
  • Social Distancing Policy (Includes Provisions Regarding Use of Face Masks in the Workplace)
  • Temperature and Other COVID-19 Symptom Screening Policy
  • COVID-19 Testing Policy
  • Negative Leave Accrual Policy
  • Accommodations Policy for Employees at High Risk of Severe Illness Should They Test Positive for COVID-19

Who Should Attend:
Representatives from public agencies, including cities, counties, and special districts
