Calculating the Regular Rate for FFCRA Leave

Under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, employees may be eligible for Emergency Paid Sick Leave and Emergency Family and Medical Leave.  The FFCRA requires employers to use the FLSA regular rate of pay to compensate for leave hours.

Topics in this webinar include a review of the law, how to calculate the regular rate of pay and the average regular rate of pay, as well as understanding the use of the regular rate for these purposes versus for overtime calculations.  Failure to comply with the FLSA regular rate can be a costly mistake for employers.   Join us to ensure that your agency is performing the calculations correctly and to have your regular rate questions answered.

Agenda:

  • Overview of FFCRA
  • Overview of Pay Under Paid Sick Leave
  • Overview of Pay Under Family and Medical Leave
  • What is the FLSA Regular Rate of Pay?
  • Calculation of Regular Rate of Pay Under FFCRA
